Identification: No two individuals have the same markings on the body. Shadow stripes between the black stripes, on the hindquarters only, are characteristic of this species. Zebra are always in a good condition. Ears are rounded. Size: Shoulder height 136cm. Weight - ± 320kg. Habits: Non-selective grazers, will browse occasionally. Gestation period 360-390 days (± 12 months). Birth weight 30-35kg. Live in family groups, fairly dependant on water thus always within 10 km thereof. Distribution: Open savanna area.
